Natural Olive Oil

WOW! For the relatively low price paid I’d think this would fetch a higher price, so maybe I should shut up and just keep ordering it? Medium consistency and FULL flavor but that’s why Pompeian branded it with “Robust”. Compared to most of the readily available major brands in supermarkets, including Costco’s Kirkland brand, this product stands out clearly in flavor, at a lower price. I first used it with my standard red tomato sauce beginning with briefly cooked local fresh garlic and could tell the difference immediately. I smelled OLIVE OIL before the garlic, and note I let the garlic “rest” for about 15 minutes before cooking, so anyone familiar with traditional Italian or generic Mediterranean cooking knows what I’m talking about.
I’m so happy that I can find these preferred culinary staples via Amazon with FREE Shipping versus trying to hunt them down locally here in Hawaii. With Amazon Subscribe & Save, and bundling this item with others I got the 15{98880d97af0555a3a517c8aae666eeb64e7bd6d49cbbe05617dcb138f6e48200} discount, so my actual cost was only $13.58 (do the math). I’ve already reordered to keep the pantry stocked.
And the bottom of the tinted bottle is stamped “12/19/19” but I’ve already used almost half the contents in less than 2 months so no worries about spoilage. PREMIUM product.

I buy this brand all the time locally and I love it. But this bottle from Amazon tastes completely different – it’s bitter and nasty, and actually burns my mouth a little. Pompeian Robust normally tastes smooth and rich, but the bottle I bought from Amazon doesn’t taste the same at all. I had to throw the whole thing out. No idea what they did to it to make it go bad. Not expired, but clearly not usable.

This huge bottle was shipped without being secured or wrapped. Who ships olive oil without precautions? The lid was off and flooded the box and all of the other contents and my garage with oil. I spent an hour cleaning it up and it’s still a mess. Sadly, I don’t know if the oil itself is good…..shipping preparation obviously isn’t a priority. I’m irritated about the mess and how my other items are now “highly moisturized.” Unless the shipping department can guarantee they will wrap and secure it, I’d advise skipping this purchase. The mess isn’t worth it not is the early morning doorbell from the postal guy who wasn’t very happy handling this mess too.

I used to buy Pompeiian olive oil back in the 90s, when it was still in beautiful glass bottles. The flavor was exactly right for salads, grinders (sandwiches like subs), and on pasta. After moving to California I was not able to find it in the right “strength” for a long time, and now it’s in plastic bottles. I don’t remember it being designated as “Robust”. But this is definitely the one! Try dipping some good bread into some of this with a little balsamic vinegar and I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a taste worthy of serving with a fine meal!

I made the switch to evol for cooking years ago and this is the brand I went with. It has never let me down and I love it for all my regular cooking needs. I also like that you can buy the big bottles on amazon for a much better price then I’ve ever found in store. Amazon makes this affordable for someone on a budget and the quality is good too.

Absolutely the highest quality olive oil at any price!!! The Robust has an excellent flavor profile and is perfect on salads and for use in dips and marinades. Will definitely purchase again.

This has a pretty forward floral/fruity taste, much like we had on a vacation to an olive orchard in Italy. I use it for all of my cooking that calls for olive oil. Less expensive to buy this giant bottle and decant into my smaller 500ml bottle for general use than to buy the smaller bottle from the grocery store. Overall a good value for a great oil.

I use this to make some of my family’s soap. I get consistent quality with each batch. I don’t sell soap so this size is good for the needs of my husband and me. I also use it for cooking. That way I don’t have a lot of wasteful containers.
